Sauna-restaurant Kaihu will open in December 2024

Get ready to sauna soon! Osuuskauppa Suur-Savo will open the sauna-restaurant Kaihu in Mikkeli on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Panko Concept was responsible for the design and main implementation of the project, led by architects Aleksi Sievänen and Timo Urala. The high-quality, meticulously finished result is also thanks to our network of partners, as well as local contractors and subcontractors.

The floating sauna-restaurant Kaihu is one-of-a-kind in its scale in Finland. The mass timber structure, spatial and interior solutions, and furnishings have all been designed down to the smallest detail to create a timeless entity. The versatile use of wood is prominently featured throughout the project, from the structural elements to the visual surfaces and furnishings – not to mention the saunas themselves.
