Sauna-restaurant Kaihu will open in December 2024

Osuuskauppa Suur-Savo will open sauna-restaurant Kaihu in Mikkeli on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Panko Concept is the lead designer and implementer of the project. As a floating sauna, Kaihu is unique in its size class in Finland. The entirely Finnish-made structure has been meticulously designed down to the smallest detail and built sustainably and responsibly.

The building’s framework is made of cross-laminated timber (CLT) from Kainuu, which is responsibly grown and certified. Finnish wood has been extensively used in all surfaces and furnishings. Additionally, the fixed furniture features materials like paper composite countertops, made entirely from 100% recycled paper.
